Emergency Consultations
Dr Khan’s rooms are open from 08:00 until 17:00 Monday to Friday. At our practice, a sick child is our top priority. For this reason, we make special provision for emergency consultations for sick children every day.
You may need emergency care if your child has a high fever, acute pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, headaches, abdominal pain, constipation, difficulty breathing, severe restlessness or trauma.
As a parent, you will know when something is out of the ordinary for your child, and if these issues raise concern, Dr Khan is more than happy for you to make an appointment; especially if it's an emergency. Please discuss this with the friendly receptionist when calling for an appointment.
Dr Khan also provides an after-hours service and shares this service with other colleagues after 17:00 on weekdays, weekends and public holidays. If your child is severely ill and in need of emergency care, please proceed to the Melomed Gatesville Emergency room after hours.
Once an evaluation has been completed by the attending doctor, ask him or her to call Dr Khan to discuss further treatment and management of your child’s condition.
